Grade II Byfield House has origins in the 16th Century with a medieval oak door, a historic Tudor Hall, a fine 17th Century Barn and important “Adam” plasterwork in the 18th Century Drawing Room.

Ashton House B&B is a listed 17th century former farmhouse, right in the middle of the village of Painswick, full of delights. The inglenook fireplace has a Cromwellian fireback. The “priest’s hole” in one of the guest rooms was probably used in the English Civil War. The house has a wealth of exposed ancient timbering, stonework and flagstones
